Finding Inspiration in Every Turn

The Master Plan

The Smart City, called Bakersville Namibia will use information and technology to engage citizens, deliver city services and enhance urban systems. Smart City technologies result in cost efficiencies, resilient infrastructure and improve urban experience.

Buildings, roads, parking areas, energy, waste management and water/green infrastructure are urban systems that will benefit from the Smart City technologies. Meanwhile, social systems that stand to benefit include public safety, public health, education and our neighborhood, to name a few.

One of the greatest challenges, naturally, is connectivity. The network of connected devices, such as vehicles, mobile phones, transportation management centers, home appliances – the internet of things that won’t function effectively without connectivity.

The planning aspect of BAKERSVILLE NAMIBIA design is an evolving task - for municipalities and consultants. “Technology industries are developing Smart Cities like – BAKERSVILLE NAMIBIA – are still challenged to find effective ways of using the tools to address the public interest and respond to citizen’s needs.”

Our Story

Every child has a dream and as they grow older, the dream sometimes changes, but for Mr. Neville Kenneth Baker, this was not the case. Since childhood, Mr. Baker dreamed about developing a place where people can live comfortably and in harmony.

This dream started to activate in the year 2007 when Mr. Baker decided that there is no reason that his dream cannot come true developing a new urban node close to the west coast of Namibia. The Smart City concept for Namibia made perfect sense. The planning and the processes to get to the current stage (‘2025) took 17years and with a lot of effort and patience, the project finally kicked off in the year 2022 where Bakersville Namibia started to advertise and launched affordable portion prices for reservation on the unserviced land to give all people the chance to be part of this amazing opportunity. Although these prices will change once the land service starts, Bakersville Namibia will continue with the optional down – payment structure in support to all Namibians.
